Advent & Christmas 2024

This season is filled with expectation and celebration as we await the coming King!

See our announcement video and descriptions of the events below. As always, find the latest event information in the Wednesday Weekly news. Unless otherwise noted, all events take place (or at least begin) at our main location: 309 East Adams Street - downtown at the corner of Jefferson & Adams.

Scroll through the photos below to see basic details about each of the events.

Light Up DWNTWN

Thursday December 5th. Meet at Church at 5 PM.

FBCM is joining our downtown community's "Light Up DWNTWN" celebration, bringing good news of great joy in song. No special skills necessary, all ages invited, sheet music will be provided. Come ready to sing!

Hanging of the Greens

Sunday, December 8th. After Worship Service, in the fellowship hall.

Bring a crock pot of soup or chili and/or a dessert to enjoy as we celebrate the Hanging of the Greens. After our meal, teenagers and adults will help our sanctuary come alive for the season, as children participate in a special craft.

Youth Progressive Dinner/ Children's Christmas Party

Sunday, December 15th. 4:30 PM. Meet at the church.

Youth grades 6-12 // Meet at the church, as we'll be going to three different locations for our progressive dinner. We'll be at one location for appetizer, another for the main meal, and a final place for dessert. At each place, we’ll hear a part of the Christmas story, so it’s kind of like we’re traveling along with Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus. Bring a wrapped or bagged gift for the gag gift exchange, $15 maximum limit (or something out of your closet you think would make a funny gift!). RSVP to youth@fbcmuncie.org so we can make sure to have enough transportation!

Children K-5th grade // Meet at the church for a special party as we celebrate Jesus's birthday this season! This Family Day Out event invites kids and parents for games, snacks, and fun! Hope you can make it, and invite a friend!

Candlelight Christmas Eve Service

Tuesday, December 24th. 7 PM.

Join us for one of the most special services of the year. Children and families arrive early to participate in the procession of the nativity, in which children bring the figures from the Nativity scene to rest at the manger. As we celebrate the miracle of the incarnation, and the arrival of Jesus as Emmanuel- God with us - this time spent in worship in precious and a fitting way to celebrate Christmas. We sing old hymns, tried and true, and new songs that help us behold Christ with wonder all over again, we'll hear a word from the scriptures, we will light one another's candles and sing "Silent Night."

Join us, invite friends and family new and old. "I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people." (Luke 2:10).

Family Service

Sunday, December 29th, 10:45 AM. in the fellowship hall.

Donut Semi-Hour, 10:15 AM

No Sunday School this Day.

Join us around the tables in the fellowship hall for our last Sunday service of the year. It's an intergenerational service for the whole family, which involves all ages. We'll pray, sing hymns, and worship God together in an intimate, and more casual, environment. You can even come in your pajamas if you want.
