We are excited about a change in our audio/visual capabilities. With a couple of special gifts, we now have the capabilities to record our worship services in digital high definition. What does this mean? How will this affect the distribution of our recorded worship services?
- First of all, if you are receiving the VHS recording of Sunday worship services, you will now receive the recording on DVD. If you do not have a DVD player, please let us know and the church will provide you a loaner DVD player for as long as you need. The player will be easy to operate. You will simply place the disc in the player and it will begin playing. When you are finished with the DVD, it is yours to keep or pass along to a friend.
- Secondly, having the recording in digital format will allow us to post it to our Web site. We will post the sermon only to our Web site each week. Due to copyright restrictions, we are not allowed to post music to the Web site. The video sermon may be viewed online, downloaded, or imported into iTunes as a podcast. The video may be played on your computer or iPod. As a reminder, you can now download the audio of sermons online now or subscribe to our audio podcast.
- Finally, the quality of the recording will be vastly improved. Right now, the recording is 480 pixels wide. This means that there are 480 horizontal lines that make up the picture on the TV. The recording will now be at 1080 pixels. If you have an older TV, you will still see the image at the lower resolution. However, we will be capturing and archiving the services at a quality that will be ready for the newer technology.
We will be implementing the new equipment in the month of August. The videos will be available on the church Web site at http://fbcmuncie.org/video. If you are interested in receiving a DVD each week, please email Alex at allex@fbcmuncie.org or call the church office.
